Message from the President

In the 21st century, children have many activities and sports from which to choose. We are thrilled that each year over 400 boys and girls ages 4-16 choose to play baseball in the Central Springfield Little League (CSLL). CSLL has served the greater Springfield, VA area for more than 50 years, providing a positive environment for the development of sportsmanship, athletic skills and character. Our program puts emphasis on participation, fun, skills development, teamwork, fair play and family involvement, while developing an appreciation and a love for the game of baseball.

CSLL also has a strong commitment to community service, as demonstrated by our sponsorship of the Springfield Challengers Baseball Program for children with disabilities and our "adoption" of Trailside Park and the 90-foot baseball diamond at Franconia Park.

CSLL cannot operate without considerable time and effort from adult volunteers. Managers and coaches teach the fundamentals of the game with enthusiasm and positive encouragement. CSLL Board Members oversee all aspects of the league, including umpires, concessions, rules, registration, fundraising, groundskeeping, training, safety, scheduling, and the coordination of Opening and Closing Ceremonies. The league currently needs additional volunteers for the Board, or alternatively, please consider donating some of your time as an adjunct Board Member, where you can help with one task each year, such as securing trophies, coordinating picture day, coordinating our Fun Tournament, or providing assistance for a league purchase.

CSLL is extremely proud of our long history as a leader in youth baseball for over 50 years. Please help us make the next 50 years even better!
