CSLL T-Ball Drills:

    I  

1) Throwing Drill

  • One - Athletic Position
    • Knees flexed
    • Weight over the balls of your feet
    • Feet shoulder width apart
  • Two - Glove and Hand come together
    • Glove comfortably at chest level
  • Three - Front arm comes up
    • Shoulders in line
    • Front elbow pointing towards the target
    • Glove taking a picture – what time is it?
  • Four - Back Arm comes up
    • Down, back, and around
    • Peace to the centerfielder
    • Fingers stay on top of ball throughout
  • Five - Step
    • Front leg goes forward - landing plane
    • Front arm pulls downward
    • Knee inside the foot with the front foot slightly closed
    • When foot lands the back elbow is even with or slightly above the shoulders (scarecrow position)
  • Six - Throw
    • Ball released in front of body

2) Hitting Drill

  • One - Athletic Position
    • Knees flexed
    • Weight over the balls of your feet
    • Feet shoulder width apart
  • b)      Two - Knocking Knuckles
    • Line up knuckles that would knock on doors
    • Point index fingers to the sky - they should align
  • Swing
    • Swing down and hard

3) Fielding Drills

  • One - Athletic Position
    • Knees flexed
    • Weight over the balls of your feet
    • Feet shoulder width apart
  • Prep Step
    • Glove extended
    • Step with right foot, then left
  • Ready Position – athletic position
    • Reached at completion of prep step
    • Begging for the ball – thumbs down
