CSLL Progressive Throwing Drill Steps:

    I  

One knee - check

  • Front knee inside foot
  • Break to scarecrow
  • Check ball in hand
    • Peace to centerfielder
    • Elbow even with or above shoulder
  • Throw
  • Follow through with arm across opposite knee

One knee – no check

  • Same as above without stopping to check
  • Follow  through held for three count

Standing – Glide to Stride

  • Shoulders facing
  • Break to scarecrow
  • Front leg extends and lands with foot slightly closed
  • Tug and pull
  • Foot releases
  • Follow through and hold

Coaches NB - This drill should be be at a longer distance than the one knee work.

Standing – Balance Point

  • Shoulders facing
  • Lift leg and balance for three count
  • Stride to land on toes on closed front foot
  • Tug and pull
  • Foot releases
  • Follow through and hold

Standing – Left, Right, Left

  • Facing
  • Left leg steps forward
  • Right leg goes behind
  • Left leg forward and throw
  • Hold follow through

Goal is to hit partner in the chest with a relatively flat throw

Coaches NB - This drill should be at a longer distance than the previous two drills

Long Toss

  • Crow hop to throw
  • Throw not on a line

Distance should be extended according to how long drill has been used but only to the point where the ball can be thrown accurately and caught by the partner.
